Project Description

A film based on the experience of Remei Oliva and her family, who were forced into exile in 1939. On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of the Civil War and the beginning of the Republican exile, we recover the life and struggle stories of people who suffered the violence of war and forced exile.
The film, directed by Quim Paredes, is a work of fiction that seeks, both in terms of format and aesthetics, to express an intense and hard experience, the experience of Remei Oliva, who is currently 103 years old.
Owner of a sewing workshop in Badalona, on February 7, 1939, she had to go into exile with her husband and parents, fleeing in a truck to France. There they suffered the cruelty and inclement weather of the Argelers concentration camp. Also in exile, at the Elna Maternity Hospital, she gave birth to her first child, Ruben, on January 5, 1940.
Remei left hoping to return soon; she was never able to achieve that.
