Pep Aymerich’s works are always the result of a question, of constantly questioning human nature; of the investigation about the processes, the materials, and the plastic expressiveness of the body and its movement. “La Recerca del Jo” is born with a challenge that Pep wants to share. That’s why he creates a structure-sculpture that he offers to a colony of bees, so that they, adopting the space as their place of growth, end up forming a shared piece. This approach allows Pep to deepen his knowledge on the world of bees and he ends being seduced by the products they generate: the wax to structure the colony and the honey for its nutrition. As a result of the contact with the bees, another way of expression and research is born, which inspires Pep’s creativity in various works.
